OF EMPLOYEES WITH DISABILITIES

Our happy house wants to turn difference into strength. After an initial assessment, our "happy team members" are all recruited and trained by a team of specialists in HR, management, cooking and specialist educators.

At the end of their training, the happy team members join the Cafés Joyeux on a permanent basis. Depending on their abilities, and always supervised by caring managers, they work in various restaurant jobs: reception, cashier, kitchen, and room service.

Café Joyeux: AN INCLUSIVE AND SUPPORTIVE CONCEPT FOR PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES

AN INCLUSIVE AND SUPPORTIVE CONCEPT FOR PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES

In France, 700,000 people are diagnosed as having autism spectrum disorders and 65,000 have Down's syndrome. They are two to three times more affected by unemployment than the rest of the population. Only 0.5% of people with intellectual disabilities work in the mainstream.

2017: birth of the first café-restaurant Café Joyeux, which employs and trains people with disabilities.

Our ambition is to make disability visible and to encourage encounters by offering work in an ordinary environment to people who are far from employment. Café Joyeux aims to be an ordinary company.
