Since 2017, Café Joyeux has been taking action at the heart of our lives to promote the inclusion of people with mental and cognitive disabilities through work, training and encounters.
Café Joyeux is a group of companies structured since its inception in an independent, supportive and totally disinterested manner. The Group's companies are wholly owned by the Source de Joie endowment fund, a not-for-profit organisation that pursues a mission of general interest.
Our unique model blends our growth as a company with a mission to foster a more inclusive society.
Émeraude Solidaire becomes Source de Joie
6th November 2024
The Émeraude Solidaire Endowment Fund has changed its name to Source de Joie. This change marks a desire to anchor in our identity the vision of inclusion espoused by co-founders Yann and Lydwine Bucaille.
‘Inclusion is about living together with our differences. It's about accepting them, respecting them, revealing them to enrich each other. Naturally, it's a real source of joy’
Yann Bucaille-Lanrezac.
We believe it is essential that the name of the Endowment Fund truly and easily embodies our mission.
Since its creation in 2010, the Endowment Fund has been at the service of others, the most vulnerable, and in particular people with disabilities. Its mission is to provide work-based inclusion for the most disadvantaged people, who are all too often far from employment, to help them regain their confidence and dignity.
Since 2021, it has managed the Joyeux Apprentice Training Centre.
In addition to its own missions, it is the sole shareholder in Les Café Joyeux, and its financial resources come mainly from the generosity of its private donors and sponsors.
The Source de Joie endowment fund collects donations from individual benefactors, companies and foundations to train team members and support the employment of people with mental and cognitive disabilities.
Donations to the Source de Joie endowment fund are tax deductible at 66% of income tax and 60% of corporation tax.
Since 2021, the Centre de Formation des Apprentis Joyeux (CFAJ) has been giving team members the opportunity to enroll in a two-year culinary arts and service course to prepare for the State-recognized Catering Agent diploma (level 3).
The training provided by the CFAJ is unique and focused on enhancing the value of in-company experience. It offers on-the-job training (FAST) delivered by café-restaurant managers, and is fully adapted to people with mental and cognitive disabilities.
Your support is needed to fund the training of these crew members, enabling them to improve their skills and increase their employability.
Today, 205 team members are employed in our 26 Café Joyeux aims to provide more opportunities for people with mental and cognitive disabilities to obtain stable employment in a business setting. Through their employment, we hope to-help them rediscover their happiness and build confidence and self-esteem.
Our ambition is to have 30 café-restaurants open and employ 300 crew members on permanent contracts by 2025.
Today, several new openings are underway, including Lille, Toulouse, Boulogne-Billancourt and Dijon.
We need your generosity to finance the investments needed for all these openings. Once open, the cafés will be self-financing by the third year of their operation.
Donations made to the Emeraude Solidaire endowment fund are 66% deductible from Income Tax, within the limit of 20% of your net taxable income, and 60% deductible from Corporate Tax, within the limit of €20,000 or 0.5% of turnover.
