Since 2017, Café Joyeux has been actively engaged in promoting the inclusion of people with mental and cognitive disabilities through employment, training and meaningful encounters.
Café Joyeux operates as a group of independant companies wich do not benefit from shareholder profits - the company redeploys, all profits to support the mission and demonstrate the employability of people with IDD. In France, the Group's companies are fully owned by the Emeraude Solidaire endowment fund, a non-profit organization dedicated to serving public interest.
Our unique model blends our growth as a company with a mission to foster a more inclusive society.
The Emeraude Solidaire endowment fund collects donations from individual benefactors, companies and foundations to train our joyful crew members and support the employment of people with mental and cognitive disabilities.
Donations made to the Emeraude Solidaire endowment fund are deductible
66% of income tax and 60% of corporate tax.
Since 2021, the vocational school Centre de Formation des Apprentis Joyeux (CFAJ) has been offering joyful crew members the opportunity to enroll in a two-year culinary arts and service course to prepare for the State-recognized Catering Agent diploma (level 3).
The training provided by the CFAJ is unique as it focuses on the value of in-company experience. It offers on-the-job training delivered by cafés-restaurant managers, and is fully tailored to people with mental and cognitive disabilities.
Your support is needed to fund the training of these crew members, enabling them to improve their skills and increase their employability.
Today, 186 team members are employed in our 24 Cafés Joyeux, in France and abroad. Café Joyeux aims to provide more opportunities for people with mental and cognitive disabilities to obtain stable employment in a business setting. Through their employment, we hope to-help them rediscover their happiness and build confidence and self-esteem.
Our ambition is to have 30 café-restaurants open and employ 300 joyful crew members on permanent contracts by 2025.
Today, 7 projects are underway in Lille, Toulouse, Boulogne-Billancourt, Dijon, Strasbourg, Brest and Nice.
We need your generosity to finance the investments needed for all these openings. Once open, the cafés will be self-financing by the third year of their operation.
Donations made to the Emeraude Solidaire endowment fund are 66% deductible from Income Tax, within the limit of 20% of your net taxable income, and 60% deductible from Corporate Tax, within the limit of €20,000 or 0.5% of turnover.
